Time has taught me not to blog about events ahead of me, rather to report them as they've happened. I'm deeply grateful and beholden to my only (as of yet) daughter-in-law, the very lovely Lena, who graciously sent us Jesse for the week. It was best for their son, Isaiah, not to travel right now, and he especially didn't want his daddy to leave, nor did the rest of us want Lena and Isaiah to not come, but it's totally understandable.
Again, when my kids are grown, Jesse and Lena are gonna have a tough time getting me off of their couch, as I plan to make up for lost time. Oh my goodness, my baby son here is now 30 years old.
Daniel picked him up last night at the Atlanta airport and by the time we'd finished watching my very gorgeous Sabrina cheering at the high school football game, it was time to finally see Jesse.
Sabrina's competition cheer leading squad has been in our county newspaper several weeks in a row now.
Daniel has his National Guard Drill Weekend, in which I have to brag that he is commanding, thus keeping him closer to home this weekend as well.
A day of firsts all around, Nando begged to mow and with me following his footsteps, he did so yesterday, grinning and happy. Ray wanted to ride his bicycle to my house, a little more than half a mile going down both dirt roads, Sarah following in the car, Hazel's dog Yoda yapping at his heels. Yolie and Chuck's house is the halfway point more or less, up there not seen on the right.
Oh, Dear Lord, thank you for such complete joy around here.
We are heading into an extremely happy event, Daniel's wedding is now one week away.

I can't get over how tall the trees are there. I was in Atlanta several years ago for work and the tall trees made me want to move there. The trees of Kansas disappointed me when I got home.
You are soooo right. I love our trees.
