Sometimes......

... days that can't get much worse actually do.

$500 later the driveway is only barely passable.

My son at The Ranch stole 2 laptops a month ago, The Ranch pressed charges and this is a felony. He is in a youth detention facility for the weekend. I'm in agreement with The Ranch. The best possible outcome of all this would be a changed heart and no more stealing as he is being held accountable for his actions.

I don't even want to think about the worst outcome.

I went to a fifth grade meeting about an upcoming field trip but I was called out of the meeting by the school secretary who told me that Allen had a temperature and was squalling in the clinic. Another teacher told me that a confirmed case of strep was there at the school also that day.

Sonny, age 19, hit a fawn on the dirt road and came running to me all upset. We went to check and it had dragged itself to a gully of rushing water and didn't look very good. I pulled Sonny away and we called animal control. A few minutes later a deputy called me to confirm the site and said he go take care of it. It is pouring down rain and Sonny went out with a shovel to dig alongside the dirt driveway. That is how Sonny copes. I'm glad he is so sensitive but I hate to see him not shake this off.

This has been about as emotionally demanding of a week as any I've seen in a long, long time.
